Folders For Creating and Saving App Content
Backing Up The App
The 'ELY APP' is the original version of the app I am coding but in case something goes wrong, such as the software does not save some coding content, I have made copies of the app. This will hopefully limit the problems in production and will allow myself to say on track, therefore delivery the app on time to the audience.
Stages Of Creating The App
In this stage, I have placed the view controllers and connected them to the Tab Bar Controller. I have begun to personalise the icons but some of them still are seen as default square icons. To help structure and layout the app's pages, I have labelled view controllers, as well as adding a blue tinted background so it is clearer to see.
This is where all the coding for the view controller pages are. I have labelled the pages so it is less complicated and easy for myself to navigate around the software.
I have connected more view controller pages and have put the MapKit view on one of the pages. I have also begun to code the quiz and designed the colour and look of the buttons.
Creating Own Icons
At this stage, I am halfway through creating the icon sizes for the tab bar. It is important that the icons are clear so the app is easy to use for each audience member and that the icons relate to the pages as the app must not be overly complex to navigate. For the Ely Cathedral icon, I intend to have a icon of a Cathedral so it becomes recognisable.
From this screenshot, you can see that I have added background images to each page and have begun adding the content. The backgrounds are pictures of Ely's scenery and tourist attractions. This will hopefully provide the user with a positive experience from the aesthetics and look design of the app.
This is the final stage of my app, as the content has been included and I have created two interactive features of a map and a site button link, with the minimum amount of 6 pages which will hopefully be enough content/pages to provide the users with sufficient, up-to-date information.
I created different sizes of the Ely app icon for it to be optimised and performed on different platforms of iOS devices.
This is what the Ely app logo looks like when the app is launched on Xcode.

Second Finished Version Of The Ely App
In my plan I wanted to include a quiz in the app but I had problems with the coding and ran out of time to fix it.
Timecode
00:00 to 00:03 - In this part of the video, the icon for the Ely app is briefly shown, which I click to open the app instantly. 00:03 to 00:04 - The loading page of the Ely app is only shown for a second, as the content quickly loads to reveal the welcome page of Ely and the tab bar for all the pages. 00:04 to 00:15 - From here, I click on the Ely Cathedral icon which links straight to page and shows the Ely Cathedral button at the bottom. After clicking this, the official Ely Cathedral page opens to allow the users to see the times of when the Cathedral is open and further information on tours. 00:15 to 00:21 - The Eat & Drink icon opens to the page, which is where the user can scroll to read further information on the Hereward restaurant/bar and also to read a review. 00:21 to 00:40 - The 'Map of Ely' icon loads to the full screen map, with a zoomed view of Ely. On the map, a red pointer can be seen and when click, a label reading 'The Hereward, Ely' pops up. This can be useful to the tourists who are not familiar with the city and need information on where to find it. If this isn't clear enough for some users, the map can be zoomed in with a click which also reveals more locations such as the Ely police station. 00:40 to 00:41 - This is where the 'More' page is briefly seen, where the user is given two options to view the Events and History Of Ely page. There are four pages viewed on the tab bar and two further pages seen on the more page, therefore making a total of six pages the user can view. 00:41 to 00:57 - The History Of Ely page includes a old photograph of Ely with the Cathedral in the background. Underneath is the information of the history of Ely, telling the tourists and locals the development of the city. If the users want further information, they have the option to click the link to open the official Ely page which a specific page for the gallery and historic landmarks in Ely. 00:59 to 01:15 - The Things To Do page allows the user to scroll down on information for the boat tours that are available and also on the upcoming event of the Aquafest in Ely. There are many more events and things to do for the users so the link to the official Ely page includes their own separate page with a list of upcoming events on a timeline.
