P3: CREATE THE EXTRACT FOR AN ORIGINAL TV PROGRAMME OR SHORT FILM BY APPLYING POST-PRODUCTION AND EDITING TECHNIQUES
First Offline Edit
Changes To Be Made
The sound in the studio is too low and needs to be enhanced. This is important as the viewers need to understand what the characters are saying.
Music and sound effects need to be added to the VT, following the storyboard in terms of when the music comes in, builds up and quietens as the title of the drama is revealed.
The ambience sound needs to be smoothed out in the VT so it is clearer and the location can be more defined by the audience.
Title sequence theme music and title of the drama needs to be included help create the identity of the show so it becomes recognisable to the target audience. The graphics font needs to relate to the science fiction sub-genre and appeal to the style of the drama.
Title graphics of cast and crew need to added to the title sequence, as this is a convention of drama television shows and the target audience viewers could be interested in who is casted in the episode.
Quality of title sequence footage needs to be improved and colour corrected, as the target audience expects high production for a drama genre, which also requires the title sequence colouring to flow. This is important as the title sequence will be consistently shown throughout the season.
Reference To The Storyboard
The first beginning shot I have of the extract corresponds with the storyboard I planned, with a point-of-view shot of the bike.
In my storyboard I state of having a mid-close up of bike and legs pedalling fast. I kept the camera angle as close as in reference to the storyboard but decided to change the duration into a longer panning shot. This is because I felt the duration of 2 seconds on my storyboard is too short and having it longer helps the flow of the sequence and also allows the viewers to take in the shot.
